It covers things specific to our studio, including our usual process, so that you can come right in and get the most of your session by getting straight to work. Then for less experienced artists it includes coverage of mic technique, setting your levels, headphone monitoring, killing noise, and how leads, doubles and ad libs each do a different job so we like to record them on separate takes, saving you vocal comping time. It ends with the thing most artists find out too late: a finished record has four stages. Recording, vocal production, mixing, mastering. Knowing where you are in that process changes how you spend every hour after this one. At Epik we're more than a studio, we co-invest in our artists career development.
